The City of Treve is said to be one none can enter. Protected by the rugged terrain of the Red Mountains, its location is said to be unkown to most. Indeed if the bold Tarnsmen of Treve made their mark through all of the Gorean world,few are those who would venture in pursuit of whatever loot was taken into the skies past the foothills of the Voltai.
Treve is a bandit city, high among the crags of the lari-prowled Voltai. Most men do not even know its location. Once the tamsmen of Treve had withstood the tarn cavalries of even Ar. In Treve they do not grow their own food but, in the fall, raid the harvests of others.
They live by rapine and plunder. The men of Treve are said to be among the proudest and most ruthless on Gor. They are most fond of danger and free women, whom they bind and steal from civilized cities to carry to their mountain fair as slave girls. It is said the city can be reached only on tarnback. ---Raiders of Gor, p 271The men and citizens of Treve are:
1. Gorean raiders and hunters.
2. They take what they want and when they want from others.
3. They initimidate, threaten to get what they want.
4. They can be ruthless to outsiders and their enemies.
5. They are proud and arrogant...believing all other Goreans are inferior.
6. They maintain the secrecy of their city...bringing visitors into the walls of Treve blindfolded and tied up.
7. They have no alliances to help them defend their city.
8. Trevens have and do sell their services as mercenaries to other cities.
9. Trevens arm themselves with with spear, crossbow, long bow,sword and shield.
So in Summary, please understand as a Gorean vistor and especially as a woman you will be treated with suspicion, arrogance and perhaps disdain....and if you enter the city of Treve high in the mountains, dont be surprised if you are enslaved.
Trevian warriors are sought after as mercenaries...we dont help other cities without payment or something in it for us.
There are many examples of how we should behave IC(in character) in our RP(roleplaying) theme and here are some basics.
Regarding visitors and other Gorean Cities.
1. All strangers are enemies...we dont acknowledge Treve exists, we certainly dont give directions without a good reason,
2. All strangers are hooded/blindfolded if escorted to the city.
3. We are arrogant, aggressive, proud and dismissive of all other Goreans...Trevians are the ultimate Goreans.
4. Treve Law (the IC and IRC legal behaviour) is just for Trevans...we dont acknowledge anybody elses laws.
5. We are the dominant force in GOR...everybody else is beneath us...culturally etc.
6. FW not from Treve...area) possible slaves
b) sources of money through kidnap or being sold as slaves outside of Treve.
